Two Arrested For Stealing From FedEx Dropbox On Long Island, Police Say

Two men have been arrested in connection with allegedly committing multiple larcenies from a FedEx dropbox on Long Island.

Nassau County Police said the two men were arrested for the larcenies that took place around 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, in North Lawrence.

According to detectives, an investigation was being conducted of multiple larcenies from a FedEx dropbox at 136 Spruce St., in Cedarhurst. 

The investigation determined that Thomas Mensah, 21, of Queens, and Michael Fayemiwo, of Far Rockaway, were allegedly responsible for the thefts. 

Detectives were able to locate both men in a 2018 white BMW in the parking lot of Jimmy Jazz, at 253-01 Rockaway Turnpike in North Lawrence. 

Both were taken into custody without further incident.

Mensah has been charged with:

  • Eight counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument
  • Two counts possession of burglary tools
  • Grand larceny 
  • Petit larceny 
  • Unlawful possession of marijuana

Fayemiwo was charged with:

  • Aggravated unlicensed operation
  • Forgery of a vehicle ID number
  • Grand larceny
  • Two counts of petit larceny
  •  Unlawful possession of marijuana

Both men will be arraigned on Thursday, June 11, in Mineola.
